LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (ANIMAL HEALTH AND PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT) 01-post
QUALIFICATION:
Holder of Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Laboratory Sciences; with G.P.A of 3.5 or above and registered by professional board.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the Head of Department and undertake the following responsibilities.
- Carry out tests and recording findings/results as required by the test concerned.
- Supervise trainees/students in carrying out several tests as required by Teaching Guideline.
- Evaluate test results for better advice;
- Evaluate and assess equipments used in the laboratory;
- To keep the laboratory atmosphere more safe to avoid destructive events;
- Prepare samples for Laboratory Examination and recording information about animal’s genealogy, diet, weight, medications, food intake and clinical signs of pain and distress;
- To provide routine preoperative and postoperative care.
- Perform standardized Laboratory Tests on animal specimens and report findings;
- Maintain the Laboratory Operating Room by following established standards of sanitation including sterilizing laboratory and surgical equipments;
- Take safety precautions so that no any dangerous event happens in the laboratory;
- Collect specimens related to Lab. Operations;
- Conduct Laboratory searches, write procedures and reports, and prepare charts and graphs;
- Supervise and support students to fully involve in Laboratory activities successfully and you are responsible to supervise all Laboratory sessions.
- Prepare Laboratory equipments inventory;
- Advise the management on technical issues about laboratory; like safety measure and precaution;
- In- charge to TRACDI Laboratory and advice the management on technical issues related to the laboratory activities;
- Instruct any module related to your field as assigned by Academic office and Coordinator of Studies;
- To set test papers and Examination questions as per Assessment Plan, Curriculum, NACTVET and the LITA Examination Guideline; and submit them to the Coordinator of Studies as per deadline set or stated in the Department/Institute Calendar;
- To mark test papers and all required assignments and prepare Continuous Assessment (CA) results timely as per Coordinator’s plan;
- Ensuring that curriculum is implemented accordingly;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
